Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has described late Yinka Odumakin as one of the lions that guarded Southern Nigeria.
In a post on Twitter, Kanu said, “Yinka Odumakin, you were one of the lions that guarded Southern Nigeria. I mourn you. IPOB mourns.
“All that crave for freedom in the British created zoo called Nigeria mourn you. Rest in peace, my brother.”
Odumakin, according to his wife, Josephine, died on Friday night at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital following Coronavirus complications.
During his lifetime, Odumakin was spokesperson for Yoruba group, Afenifere, and a fierce critic of poor governance in Nigeria.
