Nigeria’s active COVID-19 cases almost at 10,000 mark

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has said that the country currently had almost 10,000 active cases of Coronavirus.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Nigeria increased to 9,972, with 81 additional cases confirmed on Wednesday.

The agency made this known via its website on Wednesday.

The public health agency noted that the new figure raised the total number of infections in the country to 164,993.

According to the NCDC, 81 newly recorded COVID-19 infections were reported from 11 states across the country.

Lagos, 26; Enugu, 13; Ogun, 8; Rivers, 6; Kano, 6; Kaduna, 5; Plateau, 5; Akwa Ibom, 4; Delta, 3; FCT, 3; and Edo, 2.

The number of deaths recorded from the virus has declined, with only two deaths recorded in the last 15 days.
