In a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, it was said that hoodlums arrived at the police station in a hummer bus, two Sienna minivans and three motorcycles.
The hoodlums were said to have set fire to some equipment and vehicles in the police station.
“Attacks on security agents, particularly men of the Nigeria Police Force, constitute a danger to everyone in our society and we call on citizens and leaders to come together and work to end such needless and mindless acts immediately.”
The Abia Government also advised residents to maintain vigilance and keep to curfew hours between 8:00pm to 6:00am.
