The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested an arms dealer, who allegedly sells weapons to bandits.
According to the police, Shehu Ali Kachalla, a Nigerien citizen, confessed to being in the business of selling arms to criminals for more than three years.
Kachalla was paraded by the police alongside four other suspects apprehended for their alleged involvement in banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and illegal possession of firearms.

Command spokesperson, Shehu Mohammed, said the state leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria provided leads that helped the Federal Intelligence Investigation Bureau and the Special Tactical Squad to arrest the suspects.
The suspects were said to have been involved in various kidnappings across the Nothern region, collecting more than N30m in ransom.
The police spokesperson said the command would continue to collaborate with any group or persons to find ways to restore peace to the region.
