The Federal Government has inaugurated a multi-sectoral committee for the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme to meet the targets of the programme.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, disclosed this in Abuja.
Ministries inaugurated into the committee include Finance and Budget Planning, Health, Education, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Information and Culture.
Others are Women Affairs, Industry, Trade and Investment, Water Resources, the National Bureau of Statistics and Universal Basic Education Commission.
Faroq, who was represented by the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme, Dr Umar Bindir, said the committee was expected to come up with strategies that would further reduce the number of out-of-school children.
“All the different ministries are interrelated in the course of implementing the programme. Try to ensure you do the right thing,’’ she said.
