Five persons have reportedly lost their lives in a clash involving factional members of the All Progressives Congress in Oko-Baba, Lagos State.

The clash is said to have started around 11:00am on Wednesday when hoodlums fought each other with dangerous weapons.

Eyewitness reports said that the clash was sparked when supporters of a council chairman attempted to erect a re-election banner at the Oko-Baba Roundabout.

The hoodlums complained that the chairman’s performance in office had been underwhelming.

The supporters felt angry and left without erecting the banner.

But minutes later, some vigilante members loyal to the chairman came and unleashed mayhem on the area.

The state police spokesperson, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, is yet to issue a confirmatory statement on the clash.
