Yoruba nation agitators on Saturday in Akure, Ondo State, demanded the separation from Nigeria.
Hundreds of agitators stormed the streets of the state’s capital, displaying banners showing their demand for Yoruba nation.
Maxwell Adeleye, spokesperson for Ilana Omo Oodua, the group that spearheaded the rally, said they have lost hope in remaining one Nigeria.
He said, “We are in Akure to demand Yoruba Nation. This current structure is not working. There will be no election in 2023. We want a Yoruba nation and we are ready to gain that peacefully.”
