The Federal Government has directed all public buildings and facilities to fly the Nigerian flag at half-mast in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers, who died in an air crash on Friday while on an official assignment to Zaria, Kaduna State.

It has now been announced via a statement released by the Secretary to the Presidency, Boss Mustapha, that the flag will fly half-mast from Monday to Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared May 24 as a work-free day for members of the Armed Forces.
