Countless websites and apps worldwide went down Tuesday after a major content delivery network reported a widespread failure.

The platform supports news sites and apps like CNN, BBC, the Guardian, the New York Times and many others.

It also provides content delivery for Twitch, Pinterest, HBO Max, Hulu, Reddit, Spotify and other services.

Major Internet platforms and sites such as Amazon, Target, and gov.uk were grounded due to the failure.

The mass “blackout” is occurring as a result of an outage at a cloud service provider called Fastly.

The company has since said through one of their service status websites that they are investigating the issue.
