Lai Mohammed summoned by APC committee, could face sanction

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has reportedly been summoned by the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a report by the Daily Post, the minister was said to have opened a parallel state secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State. While the party’s headquarters is located in the Tanke area of Ilorin, Lai Mohammed’s faction unveiled its secretariat at GRA.

Mohammed has now been summoned to explain his actions.

According to a report by PM News, the summon came after the State’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, Samari Abubakar, threatened to invoke party rules against him.

Abubakar had on Tuesday told journalists in Abuja that Lai Mohammed might be sanctioned in line with the laid constitution of the party.
