Some suspected criminals were apprehended on Monday morning by security details in the convoy of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while attempting to unleash terror on a motorist around the Toll Gate, Ikosi end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The security personnel attached to the governor retrieved cutlasses and other dangerous weapons from the hoodlums numbering three.
Governor Sanwo-Olu warned that the arrest of the three traffic robbers was a signal to other criminal elements and prospective traffic robbers in Lagos that they will be caught and dealt with by security agencies in the state.
Also on Monday, the Strike Squad of the Lagos State Task Force carried out a massive raid on commercial motorcycle (okada) riders at Second Rainbow and Toyota bus-stops along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
During the raid, which lasted for some hours, a total of 105 motorcycles were impounded.
Prior to Monday’s raid, a total of 201 motorcycles were impounded last week.
