After the heavy rainfall on Friday, commuters in Lagos have had to navigate through flooded roads and traffic gridlock to reach their destinations.
From photos taken from parts of Oshodi, Lekki and Apapa, cars could be seen all but totally submerged in water.
Lagos roads, particularly on the island, are notorious for flooding after such downpours due to poor drainage planning and refuse dumping in gutterways.
The flood water also often makes its way into the abodes of many residents in the state, with reports of properties destroyed.
One social media user tweeted photos of a flooded apartment located in Apapa.
“This is my room from Lagos state Apapa iganmu mosadolorun street,” @afolabisharafa said.
