Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, says since Nigeria is no longer under military rule, it should review its constitution, which was written in 1999 by the military.

Ooni said this in an interview with Channels TV. He shared the video of the interview on social media on Wednesday.

“What have we evolved in Nigeria? Our constitution was written by the military people in 1999. Are we still in military age?” the monarch asked.

“If your phone works too hard for too long, it will get hot and you must switch it off for it to be refreshed. So let’s be truthful for once.

“How can we be using something that is 22 years old? In that constitution, there is nothing like cyber world because there was nothing like that then,” he said.

The monarch also said youths should be included in the government, going by the successful manner in which they organised last year’s EndSARS movement.
