Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has said the club has taken another step towards title-winning glory with the acquisition of Portuguese compatriot and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Sporting Lisbon man was quoted by United’s website saying that the return of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has rejuvenated the squad.
“We know the enthusiasm will be red hot, everyone knows Cristiano is in the house,” Bruno said, while away with the Selecao.
“Everyone is very confident and happy that he is back, the players too. We know what he can give us, and our focus, like Cristiano’s, is to win. With him, we know we are closer to winning [trophies].”
Ronaldo left United on June 11, 2009, for a then-world record fee of £80m. The Portugal international continued his storied journey at Los Blancos, winning numerous team and individual honours till his move to Juventus in 2018.
Ronaldo may make his first appearance with United since his re-signing against Newcastle this weekend.
