Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has denied joining the All Progressives Congress.
The social media space was abuzz on Wednesday following viral reports that the former president had indicated interest in joining the ruling party and dump the Peoples Democratic Party.
The rumour fuelled speculations that the former leader may have plans of vying for president once again in 2023.
However, according to Politics Nigeria, Jonathan’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, debunked the rumours, describing them as “fake news”.
He said, “The report is fake news. If he defects, it would be announced through the proper channels.”
Eze maintained that his boss had not considered defecting to the ruling party.
“This is a man that’s very busy with other things”, he added.
