Jarigbe sworn in as senator after Odeh’s sacking

Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday sworn in Jarigbe Jarigbe as the senator representing Cross River North District.

Jarigbe replaces Senator Rose Oko, who died in March 2020.

Jarigbe and Stephen Odeh had been entangled in a legal battle over who occupies the seat. However, Jarigbe finally won after the Court of Appeal sacked Odeh on July 31.

Jarigbe, 48, hails from Ibil, in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State. He was a member of the House of Representatives in the 8th and 9th National Assembly representing Ogoja/Yala constituency.
