A suspected hacker has offered Facebook.com domain up for sale Monday after hours of downtime.

Facebook and its Instagram and WhatsApp platforms were down in parts of the world on Monday.

Facebook through a statement confirmed the outage and said it was working on returning things to normal.

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologise for any inconvenience,” the company said.

Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, while reacting to the Facebook hack, posted, “Someone nuked the DNS A and AAA records for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.”

He then hysterically asked for the amount the hacker wanted to sell the Facebook domain.
