JUST IN: PDP inaugurates newly elected national officers 9 December

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will present the certificate of return and inaugurate its newly elected national officers on 9 December.

The party said in a statement Thursday that the event will take place at 11 am at Chida International Hotel, 224 Solomon Lar Road, Utako District, Abuja.

The party asked all members of its National Working Committee (NWC) and the newly elected national officers to be available on the scheduled date.

“The National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC), in collaboration with the National Working Committee (NWC), of our great party, wishes to invite all our former presidents and vice presidents, governors and former governors, serving and former members of the BoT [Board of Trustees], members of the National Assembly, all members of NEC [National Executive Council], stakeholders of our party, the international community, CSOs and the media to the very special and noble occasion of presentation of certificate of return and swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected national officers,” the statement, signed by the party’s spokesperson Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, read.

The PDP last month elected a new set of members from various parts of the country into its National Working Committee (NWC) to take over the leadership of the party.

Twenty-one people were elected at the national convention which took place at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

Iyorchia Ayu emerged as the national chairman of the party.
