Robert Lewandowski and Gerard Pique were both sent off as Barcelona beat Osasuna 2-1 in LaLiga on Tuesday night.
Lewandowski received a second booking for a clumsy foul on David Garcia in the 30th minute.
However, Pique was red-carded on the bench for arguing with the referee at the end of the first half.
Barca trailed Osasuna 1-0 when Lewandowski was sent off. But Pedri levelled for the visitors despite being a man down.
Raphinha’s looping header then sealed the win for Xavi Hernandez’s men, who extended their lead in LaLiga to five points over Real Madrid.
The result means Barcelona will be in first place during the World Cup break, regardless of Madrid’s result against Cadiz on Thursday.
