Senegal forward Amara Diouf can’t hide his excitement after breaking Victor Osimhen’s scoring record at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
Diouf surpassed Osimhen’s record after netting a brace in Senegal’s 5-0 rout of South Africa on Wednesday night.
Osimhen was top scorer at the 2015 edition of the competition hosted by Niger Republic with four goals.

Diouf has now scored five goals at the ongoing 2023 U-17 AFCON in Algeria.
“It is always the right path if you follow the examples set by the best players in the competition. This is a massive thing for me and I am really delighted to break the record. It means a lot to me and hopefully, I can also follow his path of success,” Diouf said.
Senegal will take on Nigeria or Burkina Faso in the semi-final.
