The Lagos State University (LASU) has called on qualified private bodies to join in its Shopping Complex project, AF24NEWS can report.

The university is desirous of providing Public Private Partnership Model for the comfort, convenience and well-being of its students during the pursuance of academic glory.

According to a communique signed by Mr Olaniyi S. Jeariogbe, Acting Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, (CIPR), of the university, the shopping complex will be on a 1000sqm piece of land.

INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATION
IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SHOPPING COMPLEX ON A BUILD, OPERATE AND
TRANSFER (BOT) BASIS AT THE LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY, MAIN CAMPUS, OJO,
LAGOS
1.0 Background:
The Lagos State University was established in 1983. The main campus in Ojo has faculties of: Arts,
Education, Law, Science, Management Sciences, Communication and Media Studies and Social Sciences.

Also the Postgraduate School, School of Transport and Logistics, School of Part-Time Programme, and School of Library, Archival and Information Science are domiciled on the campus. The Ojo campus also hosts the following: Centre for Environmental Science and Sustainable Development, Centre for Planning Studies, Centre for General Nigerian Studies and Africa Centre of Excellence for Innovative and
Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE).

The Lagos State University with a population of about 30,000 students has a mandate on quality teaching, learning and character moulding. In pursuant to this, the University is desirous of providing Public Private Partnership Model for the comfort, convenience and well-being of its students.
2.0 Invitation for Expression of Interest: In a bid to develop and make the Ojo Campus of the University more suitable for academic activities, the Lagos State University now invites reputable private developers/consortium with the requisite technical and financial capabilities, including Operation and Management expertise to respond to the Request for Qualification (RFQ) to undertake the development of a Shopping Complex on a Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) model at its main campus. The shopping complex will be on a 1000sqm piece ofland.
3.0 Pre-qualification Requirement:

* Evidence of Certificate of Incorporation issued by Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC);* A copy of Company’s Profile with the Curriculum Vitae of key staff;
* Evidence of Company’s Income Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three (3) years valid till

31st December 2022;

*Copy of Company’s Audited Account for past three (3) years (2019, 2020, and 2021) duly
stamped by certified auditors;

*Evidence of Financial Capability to execute the project, either by submission of Reference Letter from a reputable commercial Bank, indicating willingness to provide credit facility for the project execution when needed or letter of commitment from credible and verifiable financiers for the project funding;
* Evidence of membership of Academic/Professional certificate such as COREN, CORBON, ARCON, QSRBN, etc;
* Evidence of at least three (3) previous experiences in the successful completion of such PPP in the last 10 years; The evidence should be arranged serially and each submission should include the following:
(i) Evidence of engagement;
(ii) Brief project description;
(iii) Scope of the investment;
(iv) Facilities provided;
(v) Cost of Completion;
(vi) Time line of execution;
(vii) Reference Letter(s) and ;
(viii) Evidence of Completion;
(ix) Picture of the facility;
(x) Evidence of firms current registration with relevant professional regulatory body(ies)-
Interested Firms/Consortium are required to meet the qualification requirement as
specified. Only qualified parties shall be invited to the Request for proposal (RFP).

*A letter authorizing agents of the Lagos State University to verify claims made in the letter from the company.
4.0 Method of Application:
Interested company(ies) is/are required to pay a sum of One Hundred Thousand (₦100,000:00) naira only to LASU Ventures Limited, WEMA Bank account number 0123037507 and send the bank
deposit slip along with their submission.

Interested bidders are also required to write a cover letter addressed to the Registrar boldly indicating the evidence of payment, alongside the requested documents stated in section 3 of this advertisement.

6.0 Procedure for Submission of Application: All completed applications must be submitted on or before 2:00p.m of the closing date in electronic format by email to registrar@lasu.edu.ng and info.ventures@lasu.edu.ng and hard copy in a sealed envelope containing one original and one photocopy.
