Two Nigerians arrested for drug trafficking after release from Indian police custody

Two Nigerians, Agodike Nnaemeka alias Michael Ebere, and Boniface Emenike, have been arrested by India’s law enforcement agents for allegedly trafficking drugs after previous arrests.

The police said that Agodike, 34, who resides in the Bengaluru axis of India was arrested on Thursday afternoon. “He was found in possession of 11 grams of narcotic drugs (MDMA) Methyl enedioxy methamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy, or molly,” said Gandhi Nagar, a police inspector.

Speaking on their investigation, the police disclosed that they recovered a mobile phone from the accused’s possession, and discovered that he had been arrested previously at Narayanaguda and Golconda police stations.

In the same vein, Boniface Emenike who was nabbed by the Mumbai police, was not only found to have no valid visa or passport but was caught in possession of 116 grams of drugs named Methaquiline valued at about N6 million.

The police said that Emenike was also arrested for peddling drugs by Thane police in 2022. And having come out on bail four months back, he started the illegal activity again.

Emenike’s arrest and seizure of the drugs were made during a search operation at his rented apartment in Shrikripa Residency in Taloja, India after police got a tip-off.

“In his interrogation, he revealed that he received the drugs from another Nigerian identified as Ogbona Paul. We have started zeroing in on Paul. And further investigation into the matter is underway,” the police added.
