Being a mother is undoubtedly one of the greatest joys of life, as the world marks the Mother’s Day celebration on May 14, 2023, we take this opportunity to honour some women who became first-time mothers in the year 2023.
1. Adekemi Taofeek
Rising Nigerian actress Adekemi Taofeek revealed on January 25 that she gave birth to her child on January 24, 2023. In her message, she thanked God for giving her the gift of motherhood, adding, “Thank you, Heavenly Father.”
2. Abiola Adebayo
On Tuesday, April 11, actress Abiola Ayomide Adebayo announced the birth of her baby via a surrogate mother.
She announced it on her social media profile saying, “Through it all, God has been so good to us and we’re grateful for this great testimony. Thank you, Abba Father. God bless our doctors. God bless our surrogate mom.

3. Erica Katrina
Erica Katrina and her husband Tim Godfrey, a well-known gospel performer from Nigeria, celebrated the arrival of their first child, a baby girl, ten months after their wedding on February 11.
Tim Godfrey posted a sweet image of the tiny princess’s hand on social media to celebrate the news of the baby’s arrival.
“Our Princess REIGN has arrived! Mommy, Daddy, and Baby are doing well.,” the Award-winning gospel singer captioned on Instagram. “Thank you all for your prayers and words of congratulations”
“Thank You JESUS for this blessing. Join us in giving praise to God for our beautiful baby girl”
4. Seyi Edun
Seyi Edun and her husband Actor Adeniyi Johnson became parents after waiting for seven years when they welcomed a set of twins.
Adeniyi Johnson posted images of the twins’ little hands along with the announcement of their birth on his Instagram page.
“My wife and I waited for Seven years. God is Indeed good. He planned it as a birthday gift for me, friends, family, fans, well-wishers and associates. I am happy to announce that I am the latest Twins’ Dad. My wife is doing fine, and Ibeji are doing great. Thank you all”, he wrote on Instagram.
While this is a short list, Mother’s Day is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate the journey of first-time mothers. As they embark on this new chapter, let us honour and cherish their tireless efforts, guiding and nurturing the next generation with boundless devotion.
Mother’s Day is a special occasion to honour and express gratitude to the incredible mothers who enrich our lives with their love and care. It is a time to reflect on the immeasurable impact they have on our well-being and development, shaping us into the individuals we become.
