Pecantrust Microfinance Bank has officially rebranded to Pecan Digital Bank in an effort to provide new and existing customers with fresh and modern financial solutions on a large scale.
Pecan, which began operations in 2016, has been assisting the business endeavours of economically disadvantaged micro-medium-scale firms (MSME) in the southwest region.
With the steady rise in cashless transactions in the Nigerian Financial Ecosystem, Pecan Bank has now transitioned from a traditional bank to a digital bank with complementary traditional banking services, and with this move, Pecan now joins other Nigerian fintech companies in providing financial services to underserved communities.
According to Joseph Onni, Pecan Bank’s Head of Strategy and Digital Transformation, the rebranding is hinged on their goal to improve their banking services. Onni described the renaming as a big step forward in the microfinance bank’s objective to provide its customers with seamless banking services.
He said, “We are excited to announce our rebranding initiatives that reflect our commitment to provide simple, quick and customer-focused banking experiences through our digital solutions as we progress in our digital transformation journey.
“Our customers come first and we are always focused on new and innovative ways to serve them better. The rebranding initiatives will be rolled out over the next months, with the new website design and mobile application expected to be completed soon. The company will also be updating its social media profiles and marketing materials to reflect the new brand.”
Pecan Bank has consistently supported MSMEs with its unique and innovative credit and savings products since its beginnings. The bank now provides a more efficient account management system and other operational expansion methods through their code *#7006*17# and mypecanbank.com.
Pecan Bank’s conversion to a digital bank reflects its great desire to provide its customers with seamless financial services. In a first-of-its-kind initiative for the company, it will now scale its operations to recruit hundreds of thousands of new users through digital technology.
“Customers can now carry out all their banking transactions using Pecan’s flagship USSD code *7006*17# and www.mypecanbank.com. The mobile application is in beta stage and will be deployed within the next couple of weeks” the statement read.
