There was crushing of some candidates applying of Direct Entry of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Thursday morning in Ikoyi, AF24NEWS reports.
The registration is expected to close Friday 26th but the officials are not granting most of the frustrated candidates admittance into the premises.
According to Toluwalope Jegede, one of the crushed candidates who spoke exclusively to our correspondent from the venue, Ikoyi office is the only location to purchase the PIN.
“They didn’t allow us to enter. I’ve been here since 7:30 am. I met crowd” Jegede narrated.
“Once the gate was open for some people who had written their names since 6am, many of us struggled to get in, leading to being crushed against the metal gate. My left arm got ruptured. It’s quiet sad but, we this is the only place to do it.”
Jedege who said he just finished his National Diploma for Lagos State Polytechnic said he’s trying to transfer to a university.
“Some people slept here over the night. They even said nobody would enter again.

At of 7:30 am, they didn’t let anyone enter. They said we have to go to Post Office for the PIN.
Many people had written list of names, even since last week and we cannot even enter to buy the PIN.
We’re still hanging around as we do not know our fate.
Another injured student, Babajide Akanro, said he wrote JAMB already after finishing from Ibadan Polytechnic but still want to work out a transfer to the university but the process is frustrating.
” The whole process is killing. I wrote JAMB already but I want to use this to get to 200 level in the university but, it’s just so killing.”
“Imagine leaving your house at 4:30am from Alagbado Kolinton side and get here 6:30am to meet crowd. “The crowd is not even the problem. See how they prevent is from entering the compound and we are pressing on one another.
Reaching Jegede at 12 noon he said they’ve been dismissed without being able to registers
“So, I’m just leaving the place now, I wasn’t able to do anything. They said people who did jamb cannot purchase the DE pin, that we would have to do conversion, and that’s starting around June 15 or thereabouts”
