Senate President sad over death of Yobe Council Chairman


The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said he received with shock the tragic news of the death of the newly- appointed Chairman of the Caretaker Management Committee of the Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, Alhaji Lawan Gana Karasuwa.

Lawan commiserated with members of the family of the deceased, “ the good people of the Karasuwa Local Government, the Government and people of Yobe State on the sad loss.”

“Alhaji Lawan Karasuwa was a grassroot politician very much loved by his people.

“He made great impact in the state as an Honourable member of the Yobe State House of Assembly between 2003 and 2007 and as Caretaker Chairman of Karasuwa Local Government before his reappointment to the same position,” Lawan said.


The Senate President said it was unfortunate that Alhaji Karasuwa died on the eve of his inauguration to continue with his good work for the community and the state.

Lawan prayed to Allah to comfort his family, forgive his sins and admit his soul to Aljannah Firdaus.
